System designers need “energy drinks” too. Enter the new ARM N1 System Development Platform (SDP) developed by Arm, Cadence and your friends here at Xilinx. The SDP is based on the recently unveiled Arm Neoverse N1 Platform, which was designed from scratch by our friends at Arm specifically for cloud-to-edge infrastructure. It is the industry’s first 7 nanometer infrastructure development platform enabling asymmetrical compute acceleration. It does this using our very own Alveo U280 accelerator cards via CCIX.
What is CCIX? Glad you asked!
In 2016, Xilinx helped pioneer the Cache Coherent Interconnect for Accelerators or CCIX (pronounced see 6). It is a chip-to-chip high speed interface that enables two or more devices to seamlessly share data and memory. We are also a founding member of the CCIX Consortium, which promotes the technology and oversees the industry-standard specification.
Through CCIX, our FPGAs and accelerator cards communicate with CCIX-compliant processors, like Arm’s Neoverse, ensuring cache coherency and increasing performance. In addition to CCIX, the SDP includes support for PCIe Gen 4 and DDR4 and is available to hardware and software developers for hardware prototyping, software development, system validation, and performance profiling and tuning, starting in Q2.
But you don’t need to wait for the Alveo U280 accelerator card featuring our high-performance FPGA with integrated high-bandwidth memory and, of course, the CCIX interface. It is available now! So, if you’re seeking a performance boost for your demanding infrastructure applications, spread your wings and get ready to fly!
