The Example design TX FIFO has a documented minimum frame size limitation of 14 bytes at input to the transmit FIFO. Undersized frames less than 14 bytes can cause misalignment on the TX FIFO pointers.
Avoid sending less than the minimum size frames, or use reset when in this state to recover. In v8.0 and later of the core, frames less that 14 bytes will be dropped from the FIFO, but not cause pointer misalignment.
