Why does the BVALID fail to de-assert and the BRESP fail to assert when doing back-to-back writes to the VCU, which can result in a VCU Hang?

This is more likely to occur during multi-stream use cases.

This is a known issue with the H.264/H.265 Video Codec Unit (VCU) LogiCORE IP v1.0 and v1.1.

This issue has been fixed in Vivado 2018.2 and later.

  • Vivado 2017.4 - Users can download the H.264/H.265 Video Codec Unit (VCU) LogiCORE IP patch from (Xilinx Answer 64855) to work around this issue.
  • Vivado 2018.1 - Users can download the H.264/H.265 Video Codec Unit (VCU) LogiCORE IP patch from (Xilinx Answer 66525) to work around this issue.
  • Vivado 2018.2 - This issue is resolved in the H.264/H.265 Video Codec Unit (VCU) LogiCORE IP in Vivado 2018.2 and later.

Users should update to the latest version of the IP.
